Johnny’s Taverna and Bar is conveniently located in the Tzaneria bay, next to Dimitris Studios and Kanapitsa Mare Hotel & Spa, in the most beautiful and tranquil area of Skiathos Island.  Our restaurant has been setup under the strictest principles of cleanliness and great traditional Skiathos and Greek tastes.

Clients have a chance to enjoy refreshing salads like Horiatiki and Chef.  For those that love “starter” plates, our taverna offers a large selection that ranges from Eggplant salad to Zucchini Balls and Grilled mushrooms. All dishes are freshly prepared by Maria, home-style.

For pasta lovers we offer a large selection of dishes that rages from the classic spaghetti Napolitan to Risotto with mussels.

For grilled dishes, choose between an all time classic juicy steak and chicken prepared in a number of ways (one way will certainly satisfy your taste).

For fish and sea food options vary  and are clearly marked as fresh or frozen. The dishes of the day offer traditional, local, Greek specialties with great tastes.

Lastly, we have a large selection of wines to choose from and an interesting assortment of desserts to choose from, to finish a great meal.

Delicious homemade food (the perfect place to try various Greek dishes – but also our eight-year-old daughter’s favourite spaghetti bolognese ever and we can see why), great menu, personal service from Johnny and his friendly staff, lovely atmosphere.

During our two-week holiday in Kanapitsa we kept going back and spent our last evening there.

We stayed just round the corner from this restaurant and visited it twice. The first night was fab and all the family were so friendly that we had to go back. The second visit was even better. Greek families are so proud of what they do and at Johnnys they have every reason to be. The food, the atmosphere, the welcome and the hospitality was second to none. Just wished we had spent the last night of our holiday there too and not bothered to go to one of the very unfriendly and rubbish habourside restaurants in Skiathos Town. Great, great restaurant.

Just returned from a week long stay in the Kanapitsa Mare Hotel. Just across the road from the hotel is a lovely restaurant called Johnny’s. It’s family owned & run and that becomes blatantly obvious by the welcome received. Johnny (the owner) is head of house. His 2 sons, wife, sister-in-law, brother & his sons girlfriends are all employed there. The family poodle also takes part in the entertainment…
The food is traditional Greek & is of excellent quality. Try the Mousakka & the Sword Fish….Lovely…..
All in all it’s a fabulously relaxing experience.

We have been to countless tavernas in our greek island holidays over the years……but the friendly service at Johnny’s was by far the best. As you come down the steps from the road Johnny and his extended familly spring into action and nothing is too much trouble. Superb food plus Maria’s sweets to die for. The poodle nightly wrestyling with a plasic water bottle was a source of amusement ……but was topped by the german ex-pats night we stumbled upon. They certainly know how to have a good time ! Fantastic……try it yourselves and you will not regret it.

Don’t bother with the menu…just ask what Johnny’s wife is cooking today! Good food, good value, nice staff. No view but worth a visit

i have often wondered how some people rave about a place and others are the complete opposite .We ate at Johnnys and was at best very average -the prices were reasonable and service was good but the food was way below expectation
